Standards Steering Committee

The Standards Steering Committee (SSC) is charged with providing oversight of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard and is the main governance body for the standard. At its discretion and subject to approval of the C2CPII’s Board of Directors, the SSC maintains and further develops the standard’s requirements as it deems appropriate and necessary to preserve the integrity and viability of the standard and evolve the standard in accordance with C2CPII’s Mission and Strategic Plan.

The SSC is composed of technical and subject matter experts from a variety of stakeholder groups. These stakeholders may include qualified representatives of product manufacturers and suppliers; government or multilateral agencies; nonprofit, environmental or social compliance organizations; standards development bodies, academia and research institutions; service provider organizations, independent consultancies or other related entities. SSC members are appointed by the C2CPII Board of Directors.

Jimmy Summers

Vice President of Environment, Health, and Safety, and Chief Sustainability Officer, Elevate Textiles, Inc

Jimmy Summers is the Vice President of Environment, Health, and Safety, and Chief Sustainability Officer at Elevate Textiles, Inc., manufacturer of distinguished fabric brands and thread solutions for automotive, apparel (including denim), interior furnishing, and specialty products. He is responsible for the EHS and Sustainability programs for the company’s 40 manufacturing facilities and support facilities throughout the world.  Jimmy has worked in the textile and apparel industry for over 25 years, both in manufacturing and corporate positions. He spent 5 years in the building products industry in similar roles. Summers has significant experience in managing textile wastewater treatment systems around the world, including the design and start-up of new and upgraded systems.


He is a member of the Wastewater Council of ZDHC and is a member of the Supplier Advisory Board and several Task Teams of ZDHC. Jimmy is also currently the Vice Chair of the Environmental Committee of the American Apparel & Footwear Association.
Jimmy earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University.
