The Stakeholder Advisory Council is charged with advising the C2CPII Certification Standards Board, Board of Directors, and staff on market and implementation issues related to the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program and general C2CPII strategies for the growth and impact of Cradle to Cradle Certified products in the marketplace. The Council is composed of industry leaders from Cradle to Cradle certification holder companies, Cradle to Cradle Certified assessors, and representatives from NGOs, government, and other market segments with an interest in Cradle to Cradle Certified. Council members are appointed by the C2CPII Board of Directors.
Manager, Global Sustainable Design & Development, Steelcase Inc.
Tammy Ayers is the Manager, Global Sustainable Design & Development within Global Sustainability at Steelcase Inc. In this role, Tammy leads a crosscompany effort to ensure the company achieves its global sustainability goals, with an emphasis on ecodesign principle integration, guiding material selection, addressing lifecycle implications, and stakeholder strategy & engagement in product development and production. Tammy joined the Steelcase family of companies in 1995. Her career has encompassed diverse roles in finance, SAP development and integration, curriculum design and development, strategic project management, and management strategies for understanding the human and environmental impacts of product and process materials.
Tammy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Leadership from Davenport University, a Lean Manufacturing certification from the University Of Michigan College Of Engineering, and participated in the UC Berkeley Essentials of Green Chemistry curriculum program. She holds the Certified Performance Technologist designation issued by the International Society of Performance Improvement. She currently serves as a member of the Green Chemistry & Commerce Council Advisory Committee and cochair member of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Stakeholder Advisory Council. She previously served on the C2CPII board of advisors during its launch, was a proxy member of the C2C Certification Standards Board, a core committee member of the Health Product Declaration Manufacturing Advisory Board, and contributes to several working groups with the Business + Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association. She and her team were honored with the 2014 Green Chemistry & Commerce Council’s Champions award, she was a 2015 recipient of WMEAC’s Women of Inspiration award and is a regular volunteer and speaker with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
