Stakeholder Advisory Council

The Stakeholder Advisory Council is charged with advising the C2CPII Certification Standards Board, Board of Directors, and staff on market and implementation issues related to the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program and general C2CPII strategies for the growth and impact of Cradle to Cradle Certified products in the marketplace. The Council is composed of industry leaders from Cradle to Cradle certification holder companies, Cradle to Cradle Certified assessors, and representatives from NGOs, government, and other market segments with an interest in Cradle to Cradle Certified. Council members are appointed by the C2CPII Board of Directors.

Jean Hansen

Sustainable Principal, HDR Architecture

Jean Hansen, FIIDA, LEED Fellow, WELL AP, CID, EDAC is HDR’s Sustainable Principal for the firm globally. Based in San Francisco with experience in interior design, medical planning and sustainable design, she is responsible for advancing HDR's sustainability initiatives in project and research work for healthcare and institutional environments.

She served on Kaiser Permanente’s (KP) High Performance Building Committee for ten years to develop national sustainable design standards and led sustainable research in the fabric industry for KP, followed by co-authoring a white paper, titled, “Future of Fabric: Healthcare”. Jean continues to contribute to global sustainable design standards development, including the USGBC’s LEED Health Care rating system, BIFMA’s Sustainable Furniture Standards, and the Health Product Declaration (HPD). She’s a Board Member of the HPD Collaborative (HPDC), serves on AIA’s Materials Knowledge Working Group and C2C, HAMP and WELL’s Advisory Committees.   Jean has worked on 40+ LEED projects, developed sustainable guidelines and led research for healthcare organizations and manufacturers, provided sustainable training for a variety of clients and in-house staff; she has inspired many to pursue LEED Accreditation, and integrated sustainability into multi-million dollar projects. Her clients have ranged from Federal agencies such as the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy, the Department of Veteran Affairs, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and NOAA, to universities such as the University of California system, Stanford, numerous healthcare organizations, and furniture and fabric manufacturers.

Jean was awarded an HDR Fellowship in 2018, with a focus on “Resources & Tools for Sustainable Material Selection for Buildings”.
