Dr. Christina Raab

President & CEO

Dr. Christina Raab is a transformational leader at the interface of sustainability, circular economy and innovation. Prior to being appointed President & CEO, she served as the Institute’s Vice President, Strategy & Development and was responsible for the planning and implementation of growth, innovation and impact initiatives for the program and services of the Institute worldwide. In this role she also led funding relations and strategic partnerships with stakeholders, and significantly expanded the Institute’s Community and partner network globally.

Prior to joining the Institute, Christina served as Global Implementation Director at ZDHC, where she oversaw member and regional expansions, and established the training Academy and Implementation HUB to accelerate chemical and environmental improvements in the global apparel, textile and leather industries. Earlier Christina held leading positions at forefront sustainability consulting firms MADE-BY and CSCP, where she worked with a variety of private companies, multi-lateral organisations and public institutions to advance the integration of sustainability in core business practices and to drive sustainable development across global value chains. She has successfully led holistic C-level and on-the-ground sustainability assignments with multiple sectors from consumer goods to manufacturing across Europe, Asia, the Americas and North Africa. Christina started her professional journey at the environmental branch of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation. She conducted her doctorate research in materials chemistry at the University of California Santa Barbara and holds a PhD from the Vienna University of Technology.
