Manager, Built Environment, Americas
Bergen is a dedicated sustainability professional with a decade of interdisciplinary study and work experience committed to protecting the welfare of humans and the environment. As Built Environment Manager for the Americas at the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Bergen is responsible for outreach, education, policy development and adoption of Cradle to Cradle Certified with product manufacturers and the wider built environment stakeholder community.
Prior to the Institute, Bergen worked as a Project Manager & Sustainability Scientist at ToxServices, where she served as a Cradle to Cradle Certified Assessor, certifying a variety of built environment materials and products. Most recently, Bergen served as a Project Manager for Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a global environmental, health, safety, risk, and social consulting firm, where she supported projects in the Product Stewardship & Sustainability technical communities globally. Her prior work experience also includes carbon footprinting and offsetting, commercial water management, and safer chemistry consulting.
Bergen holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science: Legislation & Management from the Institute for the Environment and Law School at Brunel University London and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences and Global Sustainability from the University of Virginia.
