Jeffrey Hogue

Chief Sustainability Officer, C&A Global

Jeffrey Hogue was announced as the new Chief Sustainability Officer of C&A Global in December 2014. In this role, he is responsibility for heading up the global development, coordination and delivery of C&A’s sustainability strategy worldwide, therefore, helping to drive C&A towards even greater responsibility and transparency.

Hogue, in his function, leads C&A as it moves away from a “take, make, waste” linear model to a circular one; that keeps resources in use for as long as possible. Today, the brand is widely recognised as the world’s largest user of certified organic cotton and one of the foremost leaders in preferred fibres. Under his leadership, C&A has developed the first and most sustainable apparel line in the world, Cradle to Cradle Certified™ at the GOLD standard at value retail prices, high contribution margins and at scale.  He has also led C&A to numerous important recognitions for circular innovations, preventing slavery and promoting environmental stewardship in the apparel supply chain and for engaging employees – all leading to C&A being recognized as one of the most praised brands by critical stakeholders.

Jeffrey leads a global team of 135 sustainability professionals that deliver the global sustainability framework across 2000 retail locations, 60,000 employees, and over 1 million workers that produce products for C&A suppliers.  His team strives toward innovation, performance and leadership in sustainable products, sustainable supply and sustainable lives.  He serves on the board of C&A Foundation, the Innovation Committee of Fashion for Good, Textile Exchange, Organic Cotton Accelerator and The Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute.

Prior to his appointment as chief sustainability officer of C&A Global, Hogue was the senior director, global CSR and sustainability at McDonalds. Appointed in 2012, he successfully led the development of McDonald's first global sustainability and climate change strategies. Prior to this, Jeffrey served for 17 years at Danisco A/S and DuPont as their VP and Chief Sustainability Officer.
