Spring/Summer Events Round-Up

From Sweden to Vancouver, Rhode Island to Amsterdam, we’ve been connecting with partners and collaborators in workshops, webinars and roundtables on the value of Cradle to Cradle Certified in the circular economy this spring. Here’s a quick round-up of the high points.

In March, the Built Positive team participated in a day-long C2C Workshop  in Amsterdam. Lewis and Senior Engagement Manager Thijs Maartens also represented the Institute at Greenbuild Europe in Berlin, where they hosted two interactive sessions on material health and Cradle to Cradle (below right).

Institute president Lewis Perkins once again served as a judge for the H&M Global Change Award in April (left).

In May, the Fashion Positive team hosted the second annual Fashion Positive PLUS working group on the eve of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit.

Senior Engagement Manager Thijs Maartens joined London’s Clerkenwell Design Week to talk about Built Positive and Cradle to Cradle Certified with Built Positive partners Shaw Industries and Mosa.

Lewis Perkins shared a panel discussion on the role of policy, philanthropy and industry in addressing ocean debris at the 11th Hour Racing Ocean Summit in Newport, Rhode Island alongside Wendy Schmidt, co-founder of 11th Hour Racing, and US Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. Institute stakeholder engagement manager Marisa Guber and Lewis Perkins also facilitated a circular design workshop for summit participants (right).

And in June, Danielle Azoulay, head of sustainability and CSR for L’Oreal USA joined Lewis Perkins and MBDC’s Jay Bolus on stage at Sustainable Brands for a panel discussion and workshop highlighting L’Oreal’s sustainability journey.
