Look for these Cradle to Cradle Certification Holders at the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture in New York
The American Institute of Architects will host its flagship conference June 21-23 in New York City. The preeminent event of the U.S. architecture and design community, this conference features three immersive days of workshops, tours, networking functions and an expo hall. This year’s AIA Conference on Architecture theme is “Blueprint for Better Cities,” so it should come as no surprise that a number of Cradle to Cradle Certification holders will be participating.
Institute sponsor Accsys Group will exhibit its Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold product Accoya® at Expo Hall Booth 765. Accoya® (pictured above) is modified timber in which a process called acetylation, a cutting-edge patented technology, enables it to resist rot, defy the elements and stay strong for decades. Guaranteed for 50 years above ground and 25 years in ground or freshwater, its performance and properties are remarkable. Booth visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of this C2C certified product, which also contributes to several credits for LEED, and also about many C2C inspired projects such as the office of the Municipality of Venlo, Netherlands. More information on Accoya® is available here.
Cradle to Cradle Certification holder Komproment will present at "Design for Circularity: Buildings as Material Banks," a pre-conference event hosted by The Danish Cleantech Hub on July 19 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Lower Manhattan HQ. Komproment Partner Niels Heidtmann will take part in this panel discussion and workshop examining how circular building design, solutions and materials can transform the industry from its current "throw away" model. Komproment will be represented at the AIA Conference at Booth 3068 in the Expo Hall.
