Five in Ten: Reinhard Scheider, CEO - Werner & Mertz

In our fourth Five in Ten interview, Reinhard Schneider, CEO of leading German cleaning products company Werner & Mertz -- maker of well-known Frosch cleaning products -- talks about using a circular principles to build business opportunity, growth and collaboration -- plus, what steps CEOs can take today, next month and next year to drive the global transition to a circular economy.

Reinhard Schneider studied business administration with concentrations in marketing and commerce at the University of St. Gallen. He worked for six years in marketing, including a stint as a product manager at Nestlé/Switzerland. A descendant of the Werner & Mertz founders, has been involved in the development of the family-run business in Mainz since 1992 in his capacity as a member of the board. Today, he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and owner of Werner & Mertz. The family company Werner & Mertz is known for its brands emsal, Erdal, Green Care Professional und FROSCH – Germany’s most sustainable brand in 2009. The entrepreneur received the renowned German Environmental Award from the Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in October 2019 in Mannheim, Germany.
