With the release of the latest version of the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard later this year (expected in August), stakeholders will now be able to use the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Material Health Assessment Methodology to demonstrate achievement in credits (Chemical Assessment) and (Product Optimization). C2C Certified joins the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and GreenScreen® as assessment methodologies accepted for these credits.

This voluntary standard provides measurable market-based definitions of progressively more sustainable furniture by establishing performance criteria that address environmental and social aspects throughout the supply chain. In addition to materials, it addresses product-based characteristics in the general areas of energy usage, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility impacts.
