With the release of the latest version of the ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard later this year (expected in August), stakeholders will now be able to use the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Material Health Assessment Methodology to demonstrate achievement in credits 7.5.1.1 (Chemical Assessment) and 7.5.1.2 (Product Optimization). C2C Certified joins the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and GreenScreen® as assessment methodologies accepted for these credits.

This voluntary standard provides measurable market-based definitions of progressively more sustainable furniture by establishing performance criteria that address environmental and social aspects throughout the supply chain. In addition to materials, it addresses product-based characteristics in the general areas of energy usage, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility impacts.
