The show floor of Greenbuild last month was awash in Cradle to Cradle Certified products. Among those were five featured in the KB Home ProjeKt show house, which offered a look ahead to the years 2020 and 2050. The five products on display comprised:

  • Owens Corning EcoTouch PINK FIBERGLAS insulation is available with a Kraft or foil vapor retarder and in R-values from 11 to 38. It can be used in a range of exterior wall and roof/ceiling applications. (Material Health Certificate Bronze)

  • The Shaw area rug features the Lifeguard Backing System, a protection system that covers the entire carpet, from face fiber to backing. The carpets are treated with R2X stain and soil resistance protection and feature a thermoplastic commercial-grade backing that provides a moisture barrier designed to be waterproof to liquids soaking into the carpet padding and subfloor. (Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver)

  • Bark House Poplar Shingles, suitable for exterior or interior use, are made with reclaimed tree bark, offering stunning beauty and no maintenance. Standard-grade shingles and thicker, premium shingles are available. (Cradle to Cradle Certified Platinum)

  • The SunPower Equinox Residential System is the world’s first fully integrated residential solar platform. Everything from the panels to the software has been designed, engineered, and built by SunPower specifically to work together. (Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver)

  • Eco by Cosentino is made with 75% recycled materials, including mirrors, glass, porcelain, earthenware, and vitrified ash. The surfacing has a low rate of water absorption and porosity, so it can be used for bathrooms and kitchens. It comes in 11 colors, including Polar Cap, Grey Moss, Terra, and Iron Ore.
