Pre-Greenbuild Workshop Exploring Buildings as Material Banks
Calling all material geeks… Have you been wondering if there is a point to all the chemistry and carbon you have been thinking about the past several years? This is what you have been waiting for!
Join sustainability thought leaders for an all-day, pre-Greenbuild workshopNov. 7. We'll explore what's next — the circular economy, which values materials and products that are not only safe, but can be intelligently cycled and designed into buildings in ways that can be reused, disassembled and recovered, creating value through multiple use and reuse cycles. Dialogue and charrettes will guide you in coupling your growing expertise in selecting safe materials with thoughtful design strategies, so that the materials and products you are specifying can be disassembled and recovered later for reuse, thereby fully realizing the potential of Cradle to Cradle1 inspired design and circular systems.
The agenda will be organized around the key concepts of Built Positive, a movement intended to help the sustainable design community evolve toward buildings as material banks, where materials in the built environment sustain their value and owners realize economic gains.
