  • Masterclass Circular Economy Day 4: CE in practice; part 2

Masterclass Circular Economy Day 4: CE in practice; part 2

You’ve heard from resource scarcity, the sharing economy, Cradle to Cradle products, leasing models, production on demand, re-valuing waste streams….but you can’t grasp yet what this means for you. Then the Masterclass Circular Economy is for you.

The Masterclass looks into upcoming circular trends, and business strategies behind them. The Circular Economy – with the basic philosophy of using resources more conscientiously – offers your company several new ecological and business opportunities.

All these models play a part within an economy that focuses on sustainable use of materials. The current use of resources places an intolerable high amount of pressure on the planet. Alongside the risk of supplies running out for many European companies: the global demand is rising but production is stagnating. For this reason our resources use and the accompanying production- and consumption patterns need to change. By ingenuity and innovation this turnaround can become an economic opportunity and give you an international competitive advantage.

During four sessions have a half-day, you will discover what sort of chances the circular economy offers for the future. We will look to the how and what, the changes in policy and industry and which key drivers are important to evolve into a circular economy (or circular business).

  • Seminar ‘Circular building in one day’ for sustainable design professionals - From Molecule to Metropolis

Seminar ‘Circular building in one day’ for sustainable design professionals - From Molecule to Metropolis

On Friday, March 16, 2018, C2C Products Innovation Institute, the C2C Bouwgroep and C2C Café will organize a unique seminar for architects, designers, owners, developers and building professionals. Participants are taken into the world of materials and circular building in one day. From Molecule to Metropolis.

Together step by step Circular building

This seminar is organized for construction professionals who are curious about what healthy and circular building can bring to their organization. We are looking to engage with progressive companies that have set themselves sustainability/circularity goals, but still have doubts about the strategy and are looking for ways align their values with their operations as soon as possible. For these sustainable design professionals, it is a day full of inspiration, workshops and know-how from various world leaders who want to make visitors aware of the circular values and involve them in the framework and the principles of circular and healthy design. All this in one day and in an exceptional and appropriate location in the CIRCL Pavilion in Amsterdam.

The importance of Circular building with safe materials

The Dutch government aims to make the Netherlands the first complete circular economy in the world and aims to achieve a 50% reduction in the use of primary raw materials by 2030. The use of primary building materials must be reduced while building waste must be circular at the same time. The construction sector is now still a raw materials and energy-intensive sector. The Netherlands can be at the forefront of Europe if we can make our construction knowledge and expertise more sustainable and recalibrate on the principles of circular construction with safe materials. When designers and owners actively choose C2C products for circular construction, the foundation is laid for a true circular economy.

    The program

The program of this day has been set up tightly and efficiently so that, after contributions by, among others,Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Circle Economy, Delta Development, Plantronics, ARUP, C2C ExpoLAB, Arche, BAMB and several Cradle to Cradle certified producers, participants  have enough space to network.

After this seminar, the visitor will have acquired a wealth of knowledge and a concrete step-by-step plan that is supplemented with valuable connections to quickly and adequately build circular and healthy buildings.
